The current political representation at the Council is:

  • 11 Conservative  
  • 15 Labour  
  • Six Independent

Four seats are  currently vacant that will be appointed following by-elections held on 6 May 2021.

The Council’s vision is that it will make South Derbyshire a better place to live, visit and invest.

This will be delivered by focusing on the things that are most important to our residents, partners, and businesses under three key themes:

  • Our People: working with communities and meeting the future needs of the District.
  • Our Environment: keeping a clean, green District for future generations.
  • Our Future: Growing our District and our skills base.
